Beat the Street – Explore Eastbourne
We are so excited, our Access Group has been chosen to be Beat the Street - Eastbourne's nominated charity/community group this year!
It starts 16th September until 4th November 2020. When individuals and groups sign up they can opt to play for the Eastbourne Access Group and help us achieve our goal of 1000 points.
Many of the Beat boxes are on accessible pavements around the town particularly in the Harbour area and seafront. Why not get out and about and perhaps explore more of Eastbourne.

Resuming our monthly meetings via Zoom from 24 June 2020
We have been discussing how we can reconvene meetings of the Access Group. The need to socially distance, the lack of access to public transport at peak times and to ensure access for people with hearing impairment in the church hall (if tables are separated for distancing) seem to make this too difficult for us to resume meetings at the church hall for the remainder of this year.

Eastbourne Access Event Saturday, 6th June
We will be holding our Eastbourne Access Event on Saturday, 6th June in The Beacon, in Barclays Bank Terminus Road Branch and having a Stagecoach Bus on Bankers Corner.
There will be five Zones within The Beacon - Advice and Information, Getting Around and Transport, Arts and Theatre, Activities and Sports, Children's Area.
Barclays Bank will showcase services for disabled people with more stands in their banking hall. Stagecoach bus will be on Bankers Corner for you to try out.

The Beacon Abled Month Event
We will be joining Rotary Club of Sovereign Harbour on Friday, 13th March 10am to 4pm in The Beacon's 'Hut' opposite Holland and Barrett Store. Please come and say hello.
We will have our Easstbourne Guide for Disabled People, toilet leaflet and information sheets on where to go out and about in our town.

Eastbourne Disabled Access Day event, Saturday 6 June 2020
Here is a date for your 2020 diary - Eastbourne Disabled Access Day event will be held on Saturday 6 June 2020 in The Beacon shopping centre 10am to 4pm.
A free open event for all disabled people living with any impairment, their families and carers. The Beacon is hosting stands on advice, information and support available for disabled people and carers, also access to transport, mobility and local leisure facilities. There will be activities for disabled children and young people.
